Downtown street meters (unless otherwise marked) are monitored Monday - Saturday, 8am-6pm, and charge $.25 for 12 minutes. Most downtown meters allow you to park for a maximum of 2 hours, though some 4 hour meters are available. Overnight on-street parking is not permitted in Providence. More.
Locals tell us to drive to Providence Plaza Shopping Center (387 Charles Street, Providence), park across the street from Home Depot for free and take a RIPTA bus (buses 51, 52, 58, and 72) for $2 to Kennedy Plaza (7-minute ride). The bus schedule runs more frequently than the train does, and it's cheaper than parking in downtown Providence or taking the train, and avoids the traffic confusion and congestion in downtown Providence.
For those driving in from North of Providence, you might consider parking at a Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) Commuter Rail Station.
There is no on-site RV parking near the convention center.
