Caller Bill Russell got youth and adults quickly onto the dance floor for a fun evening of intergenerational square dancing at the Radisson Hotel Ballroom. Partners were assigned to squares of eight, and some not-terribly-intricate dance steps were quickly taught. A few of the youngest dancers may not have been exactly clear on the concepts of "allemand left" or "do-si-do" at the outset, but it didn’t seem to spoil the fun.

The orchestra -- two violins and a guitar -- kept the place jammin’ for an hour and a half.
