WalMart Vote
Unitarian Universalist Association Treasurer and Vice President of Finance Tim Brennan notes that "The resolution [filed with WalMart] received support from 6% of the shareholders. As a great American once said, "Mission accomplished." While this is a smaller percentage than I had hoped (Verizon was 17%), it is not insignificant and more than double the amount necessary to allow us to re-file next year. This will allow us to continue to stay engaged with the company and continue our dialogue. Our intention is to go to the proxy advisory services next year to lobby them for their support. This year they recommended against the resolutions."
