Stewardship Assessment for Congregations
What Story is Your Congregation Telling?
___ Congregation’s building: points of entry, sanctuary, classroom spaces, offices, outdoor spaces. Is it evident that the members of the congregation care for their building and grounds? Are the facilities and furnishings in good condition, appealing and inviting to visitors?
Notes:
___ Are there opportunities for financial giving during the service? Is this an offering or a collection? Are children and youth included?
Notes:
___ Does the congregation routinely give away a portion of its offering to outside social justice causes?
Notes:
___ Are there visual examples of the congregation’s acts of generosity and the living out their mission in the wider community (photos, letters, thank you notes, stories published, etc, posted and on display).
Notes:
___ Are the acts of generosity by individuals and groups recognized and honored in the congregation? When and in what ways?
Notes:
___ How open and welcoming is your congregation to economic diversity?
