GA Youth Caucus Scholarships
The Youth Caucus Scholarship from the Office of Youth Ministries has awards ranging from $50-$500 U.S. Youth Caucus Scholarship Recipients must (A) be youth aged (14-20) and (B) have a financial need that would otherwise prohibit them from attending General Assembly (GA).Priority is given to applicants who are seeking partial funding from a variety of sources (asking their congregations, holding youth group fundraisers, etc.), first-time General Assembly attendees, congregational delegates, and those willing to volunteer to help out at youth caucus events (worship planning, setup, etc.) Scholarship money can be used for GA Registration, Youth Housing, travel, or food at General Assembly. Money can be credited to your account or sent as a check. Please specify which you would prefer in your application. The deadline for applications is April 20, 2008. To apply for the Office of Youth Ministries scholarship, send a letter to the Office of Youth Ministries (address below) or email the Office of Youth Ministries with the following information:
- Name
- Age
- Congregational Affiliation/ UU group Affiliation
- Are you going to be a Delegate for your congregation? (Delegate being that you were asked or that you asked to represent your congregation in plenary as a voting member)
- Why are you interested in attended General Assembly?
- Have you been to GA before?
- What other sources are you looking to for financial assistance?
- What is the amount that you’re requesting?
- If under 18 years of age by the time of GA, please let us know who your adult sponsor will be?
All GA Youth Caucus Scholarship recipients are expected to attend at least three of the four Youth Caucus business meetings during GA.
