Sponsoring Events at GA

Who May Sponsor Events at General Assembly?

Associate Member Organizations, Independent Affiliate Organizations Unitarian Universalist Professional Organizations, Unitarian Universalist (UU) Theological Schools, as well as Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) Staff Groups, Committees, the Commission on Social Witness, the President, and the Moderator can sponsor events at General Assembly (GA). In addition, UUA District Staff Offices can sponsor an In-Gathering and up to two events from congregations in their district. Organizations must be listed in the 2008 UUA Directory in order to sponsor events at GA 2008. For a detailed description of how many events each type of organization may sponsor, refer to Information for GA Event Sponsors (PDF, 2 pages).  The theme we will particularly explore at GA 2008 is our 'Common Threads.'

The deadline for scheduling requests and event proposals from eligible sponsors was January 31.  If you represent an eligible organization (above) and have questions about your event request, please contact the GA Meeting Planner at (617) 948-4208.

Planning Committee Sponsored Featured Presentation

Planning Committee Sponsored Featured Presentations
The GA Planning Committee will sponsor three or four Featured Presentations at the 2008 GA. The Planning Committee sought distinguished, high profile speakers who will appeal to many UUs attending GA, as well as  programming that reflects our Association's anti-racist, anti-oppressive commitment and programming that reflects the GA 2008 theme of 'Common Threads'.  All applications were due by October 15, 2007. Planning Committee Sponsored Program

The GA Planning Committee will sponsor a number programs at the 2008 GA in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. The Committee is looked for significant, innovative programs that will appeal to many UUs attending GA, as well as programming that reflects our Association's anti-racist, anti-oppressive commitment and programming that reflects the GA 2008 theme of 'Common Threads'. Priority was given to congregations, UU-related organizations, individuals, and community groups that would otherwise not be eligible to sponsor GA programming. Contributing Services to General Assembly

Musicians and performers who wish to contribute their services to General Assembly programming should contact the GA Meeting Planner at (617) 948-4208.  Musicians may also contact the UU Musicians Network.
