Congregational Presidents
To enhance congregational participation in the governance of the Association, Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) President Bill Sinkford and Moderator Gini Courter have invited congregational presidents to come to General Assembly (GA). The Association is offering registration reimbursement of up to $71.25 to congregational presidents (one per congregation) as an incentive for attendance in Fort Lauderdale. (This reimbursement represents 25% of the cost of full-time registration). Congregations are strongly encouraged to financially support their president’s attendance at this GA.This invitation is extended to your congregation’s highest elected lay leader. If your congregation does not have a “president,” the invitation is meant for your highest lay leader (board president, prudential c hair, etc. and not for ministers, administrators, directors of religious education, or other designees). In order to receive a reimbursement, attendees will be required to (a) verify their status within the congregation they represent, (b) serve as a congregation member delegate at GA, and (c) attend the session for congregational presidents at GA.
Congregations may send either their current president or their president-elect. Only one reimbursement per congregation will be issued. Reimbursement applications will be distributed during the congregational presidents session and must be returned to the UUA GA office no later than July 15. Reimbursements of up to $71.25 will then be processed for congregational presidents who attended GA. Reimbursements will be issued in August.
