How Do I Find Information about Voting in the Congregational Poll?
When certifying your congregation's membership number online, you are encouraged to cast a vote in the Congregational Poll. This year's poll asks your congregation to vote on the Congregational Study/Action Issues (CSAIs) that your congregation or its representatives believe should be added to the Final Agenda of General Assembly 2016 for four years of study, reflection, and action. The four proposed CSAIs are:
- A National Conversation on Race
- The Corruption of Our Democracy
- Climate Change and Environmental Justice
- Ending Gun Violence in America
In order for a CSAI to appear on the Final Agenda, at least twenty-five percent (25%) of all certified congregations must participate in the ballot vote, and a majority of those must vote in favor of placing the proposed CSAI on the Final Agenda.
You may vote in the Congregational Poll as part of the Certification process, and the deadline for voting is the same as the deadline for the membership certification: Monday, February 1, 2016 at 5 p.m. PT.
