August 2011 Bulletin: Bookstore Discounts on Skinner Titles; CLF Online Courses; UU Social Justice Calendar

Dear Friends,

On behalf of the staff here at the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA), I hope this message finds you well. Let me highlight a few items for you in the paragraphs below. You can find more information on each, plus other announcements and resources, linked in the bulletin materials list that follows. Please share them with your congregation.

Skinner House, publishing books by and for members of the liberal religious community, is offering 20% discounts to congregations ordering 10 or more copies of their titles for group settings. Many titles are available for purchase at the UUA Bookstore. Discussion guides and supplemental resources can be found online.

A listing of online courses is now available from the Church of the Larger Fellowship. Course titles include “Economic Justice and the Bible,” “Theology for Unitarian Universalists” and “Wounded Words: Building a Vocabulary of Faith,” For more information about these and other courses please contact re@clfuu.org.

Multicultural Growth and Witness has organized a social justice calendar for the coming year. Be sure to save these dates! Link your social justice projects to collective national advocacy with the UUA, Unitarian Universalist (UU) social justice organizations, and other UU congregations.

We hope that you enjoy all of the materials offered here and in the list below.

Warmest Regards,

Michael McGlone
