Chalice and Other Unitarian Universalist Art

Chalices

A flame within a chalice (a cup with a stem and foot), represents the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) and is a symbol of the Unitarian Universalist faith. Learn more about the history and symbolism of the flaming chalice.

Chalices for the Web (Low Resolution)

  • View the gallery of web-optimized chalice art and right-click on any image to save it to your computer. You may edit these images with any graphics-editing software, or start a new project using the fonts provided below.

Chalices for Print, or To Make Your Own (High Resolution)

  • Official UUA Chalice
    The Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) official chalice logo is included in Henning Hraban Ramm's Chalice Font (as the letter "A"), and is also available in high-resolution TIF and EPS formats, for people with professional graphics-editing software.
  • Rainbow Chalice for Welcoming Congregations
    Congregations may wish to display a rainbow chalice to indicate that they have participated in the Welcoming Congregation Program and have taken intentional steps to be more welcoming and inclusive of people of all sexual orientations and gender identities.
  • Chalice Fonts
    To use a high-quality, ready-for-print chalice in any of your documents (or to create your own chalice images), try downloading a chalice font for use in any software (Word, Photoshop, Publisher, etc.).

Submitting Chalice Images

You may submit your chalice clip art by emailing web @ uua.org. Please send a high-quality gif, jpg, or png version of your chalice at 550 pixels high x 550 pixels wide.
