UU College of Social Justice

Who We Are

The Unitarian Universalist College of Social Justice (UUCSJ) assists Unitarian Universalist congregations to harness collective power for change through trips and programs that provide an exciting, hands-on experience for current leaders and future activists of any age! We help build capacity for moving justice forward. The college is an enduring educational institution that transforms lives.

What We Do

UUCSJ offers experiential learning to catalyze effective, sustained social justice work. Our service learning trips of five to fifteen days bring participants into relationship with partner organizations both within the United States and abroad. We offer internships of longer duration, primarily designed for young adults, and sabbatical opportunities for ministers and seminarians. Our programs are grounded in Unitarian Universalist history and theology, contemplative practice, social change theory and the development of multicultural competency.

Our History

UUCSJ is a formal collaboration of the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) and the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC). Building on several years of successful UUA-UUSC partnership, this collaboration offers us a bold new way to live our faith in the world, linking resources, people programs and creativity.
