Strategic Planning
The CLF Board at their April 2004 meeting agreed on a set of
Strategic Goals, including Retention Objectives, Funding Objectives
and Programming and Staffing Objectives. Our staff is working
on specific implementation plans that we come to the Board
at their September meeting. If you have a response, please

Overarching Goal: Develop a step-by-step mission driven
marketing plan linking recruitment, program, funding, staffing
and retention with systems for tracking and assessment.
Objectives
Recruitment Objective: Reach out to liberal religious
seekers, retirees and others from walled churches, religious
professionals (Parish Ministers, Community Ministers, RE Directors),
young adults, web surfers, community ministers, DREs and MREs,
Theological School Students, UUA staff, parish ministers
- Identify linkages and website advertising
- Re-institute practice of transfer notices, YA relocation
- Targeted efforts to UUWorld subscribers, including Ad
within the UUWorld
Retention Objective: Engage and retain members thru
orientation, volunteer development linking members thru increased
interaction, lifespan education, tracking
- Develop and expand Small Group Ministry
- Develop Volunteer Management Program
Funding Objectives:
- Employ development Consultant ASAP (Fall 04)
- Exploit untapped funding sources and develop existing
funding sources
- Potential international partners
- Congregations and individuals out of our history
- Congregations and individuals hooked on our mission
- Large congregations
- Pursue/assess feasibility of capital campaign
Programming
and Staffing Objectives: Integrate existing RE offerings
and new adult offerings into a broad interactive lifespan
RE program serving individuals, families and small groups.
- Implement Option 2 from RE report – expand RE expenditures
from ¼ to ½ time
- Change the way Quest is edited to free up some of Jane’s
time
- Start online courses/distance learning
- Expand web-based ministry-including audio streaming,
online courses, interactive discussion groups and media,
informational games
