Opportunities for Connection ~ July 2016
Featured Resource: CER Blogs and Website
There are a number of ways you can keep up with what is happening in the Central East Region (CER).
The Better Together Blog is written by our staff. The blog features events and activities that our clusters and congregational networks are working on, unique programs that congregations are piloting and other programs and resources we feel would be helpful to our congregational leaders.
The CER News section of the website features articles submitted by congregations on events, activities, celebrations and job openings. We also include CER News here.
The CER Events section of the website feature calendars of CER and UUA events, our youth calendar, webinar calendar and congregation and clusters calendar. You can subscribe to any of these calendars to have them automatically added to your calendar on your device.
If you have new leaders in your congregation please encourage them to subscribe to this newsletter.
The CERGing Forward blog, which highlighted the work towards regionalization and written by members of the four boards has been retired and is now an archive.
CER Hiring Youth and Young Adult Coordinator
The Central East Region is hiring a Youth and Young Adult Coordinator starting in August. Deadline for applications is July 10th. See the article for details and please spread the news!
It's Time for Your Yearly Updates
Every year our congregations change their leadership. To ensure that your leaders are getting information they need from us, we need you to go to myuua.org and update your congregation's information. Please know, we use your information in myuua.org to set up our lists of congregational leaders, so it is really important that you update that information after your elections or whenever a leadership change happens. Learn more about this at the UUA website.
Meet The Staff: Jillian Conway, Regional Administrator
Jillian Conway is a part of the regional administrative team. She is primarily responsible for events and logistics throughout the eastern part of the region, but assists other staff members with administrative tasks as needed. Jillian lives in Glen Mills, PA with her husband of nearly 16 years, her two children, and two fur babies. She loves to travel and spend time making memories with her family. You can reach Jillian Conway at jconway [at] uua [dot] org. Learn more about Jillian Conway at her UUA staff bio page.
Better Together Blog: NOVA Cluster Shares Adult RE Programming
The Northern Virginia (NOVA) cluster religious educators have come up with a way to expand the religious education offerings for their adult members. They have created a website that lists Adult RE programming at each congregation that is open to members outside the host congregation. Cluster members now have one place where they can check out what opportunities are available.
