How Is a UUA Common Read Selected?

The UUA Common Read is an annual offering coordinated by the UUA Publications Office with resource development for congregations and other groups coordinated by the UUA Office for Lifespan Faith Engagement. Books are selected by a committee including staff of Beacon Press, the Publications Office, and the Lifespan Faith Engagement Office who first gather wide input on current theme priorities.

Selections come from a pool of recent publications of the UUA's Skinner House Books and Beacon Press. While specific book nominations are not accepted, constituents are welcome to share feedback on their UUA Common Read experiences as well as to suggest priority themes for the selection committee to consider.
