Our new tool has gone social!

Have you checked out the Young Adult Ministry Self-Assessment that debuted at General Assembly 2013? It’s a simple tool that can be used by anyone who participates in a UU congregation to better understand how young adult ministry is functioning in that community. Click here to learn more! We’re thrilled that over 100 people have taken this questionnaire! We want to do even more than provide an assessment and resources, so we decided to connect folks whose congregations are in similar situations. To this end, we’ve created three facebook groups geared toward different stages of young adult ministry. “Why are there three groups for five stages?” you might ask. Well, we’ve found that the data is forming a bell curve with a larger percentage of congregations finding themselves in the middle stage, and fewer folks on either end. In order to better balance the groups we created one group for those whose congregations are in the Welcoming or Inviting stages, a group for the Buildling stage, and a group for those who are Deepening and Growing Together. To learn more about the developmental model on which the stages are based, you can click here. We hope that by connecting in virtual communities, individuals whose congregations face similar challenges can learn from one another. Together we can troubleshoot, brainstorm, encourage each other and share innovative ideas! Want to join us? Take the young adult self-assessment here and along with receiving your results you’ll find suggested resources and an invitation to join one of the facebook groups. Comments or questions?
