Don't Panic, Do Act Fast!

Housing at General Assembly (GA) this year is under pressure – because this is shaping up to be one of the best attended meetings in years, and also because of unforeseen labor disputes at two of the major hotels in Providence. The Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) can not in good conscience contract with businesses that knowingly act against Unitarian Universalist Principles or the actions for social and economic justice pursued by the UUA. The UUA was thus obliged to end the contracts reserving blocks of rooms for GA attendees with these hotels.

(Learn more about the dispute between these hotels and the people who work at them here.)

There are other options for lodging in Providence, including dorm rooms with various occupancy configurations. The UUA GA Office is working on securing rooms at other locations in the greater Providence, RI area as well.

We recommend you reserve lodging as soon as possible through the GA reservations page – you can subsequently cancel your reservation if your plans change – and to check the reservations site frequently for updates on newly available lodging.
