Montoya, Shane[1]

Greetings!

My name is Shane Montoya. I serve as the Young Adult Ministry Associate of the Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministries at the Unitarian Universalist Association, , and am their newest staff member. My role is to help connect young adults with each other and to Unitarian Universalist congregations. My goal is that every young adult have access to a spiritually engaging, social justice seeking and radically welcoming community. I also help to support the Young Adult Caucus at General Assembly. In addition to working at the Unitarian Universalist Association I work with the Massachusetts Bay and Clara Barton Districts on similar issues. To succeed at this job it is important that I hear about your successes and challenges, and I look forward to communicating with you on this blog and through other social media platforms often! I come to Boston from Dallas, Texas, where I was a member and lay leader of the Young Adult Group at the First Unitarian Church of Dallas. I grew up in Florida and North Carolina, and hold a B.A. in History with a concentration in East Asian studies from Davidson College, and a M.A. in Management from Wake Forest University. I also compete in the sport of fencing in local, regional, and national events. I look forward to talking with you about what we can do at the UUA to help support vibrant young adult ministry across the country. Don’t hesitate to drop me a line at smontoya@uua.org, and you’ll be hearing more from me soon! - Shane
