Add a UUA Banner to Your Website

Want a free, beautiful, frequently updated banner graphic for your web page? One that illuminates Unitarian Universalism, shares news from the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA), or tells about events of denomination-wide interest? And that also connects your congregation or organization with the larger denominational movement? You've come to the right place!

Once you place the following code on your page, you won't have to worry about it. Your site will automatically reflect our newest banner (see past and present banners in our slideshows, right). People who click on the banner from your site will be taken to either the UUA home page at UUA.org, or—if there's a special event, breaking news, or a helpful resource—another appropriate page within our site. Our images are optimized for quick download.

Horizontal Banners

Include the following HTML in the code of your website:

<a href="http://www.uua.org/visit.shtml"><img src="http://www.uua.org/images/uua/468x60.gif" border="1" height="60" width="468" alt="Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations"></a>

Square Banners

Include the following HTML in the code of your website:

<a href="http://www.uua.org/visit.shtml"><img src="http://www.uua.org/images/uua/125x125.gif" border="1" height="125" width="125" alt="Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations"></a>

Changes to Our Banner Code

There have been several changes to our banner code to reflect updates to standards for banner sizes and browser security.  Although redirects on our server ought to "grandfather" code placed on your site prior to October 2007, for best results we recommend updating to the code listed above.

One change is to the location and name of our banner images, and the name of our redirect URL.  Many browser security programs will automatically block items from appearing on a user's screen if they include words like "ad", "banner", or "redirect".  Since our old code included all those words, we've updated it to remove those security red flags.

Our horizontal banner size has changed from 392 x 72 pixels to 468 x 60 pixels to reflect the updated standard banner sizes as noted by the Interactive Advertising Bureau

Troubleshooting

Browser security programs will sometimes block pictures or other web objects from being displayed on a page if they're being downloaded from another server.  Adding UUA.org (http://*.uua.org) to your list of trusted sites should resolve this problem.
