DEPLORING the fact that over two-thirds of the federal budget for fiscal year 1969 was allotted to military expenditures and that national resources of scientific knowledge and skills are being largely devoted to military research;

CONVINCED that such major problems as poverty, environmental pollution, decline of educational quality and urban decay can only be solved by large infusions of federal funds, including money saved by the phasing out of our activity in Vietnam;

BE IT RESOLVED: That there be a reordering of the priorities for disposition of federal funds with decreasing emphasis on military defense expenditures and increasing emphasis on improving the quality of life in the United States.
