"Volunteering was magical on so many levels. The partner is inspiring, well organised, passionate and a privilege to be aligned with. The opportunities available to impact directly on the lives of those in need are incredibly special, and the rewards are felt by the children, their communities and the volunteers themselves."—Rebecca Ramsay, Nepal Volunteer
The Global Volunteer Network (GVN) is a dynamic organization who's primary vision is to connect people with communities in need. They do this by supporting the work of local community organisations in countries through the placement of international volunteers.
The Global Volunteer Network was launched in December 2000 by Colin Salisbury, its Founder and Executive Director, after spending time volunteering in Ghana, West Africa. While he was there he saw the tremendous difference volunteers could make in helping local organisations achieve their goals. Upon returning to New Zealand he spent some time researching the different volunteer organisations around the world and was amazed at how expensive and limiting many programs were in terms of volunteer opportunities
In the past eight years The Global Volunteer Network has placed 14,000+ volunteers worldwide, and remains dedicated to partnering with local organizations around the globe to evoke change in underserved communities.
The Global Volunteer Network has placed volunteers in:
AFRICA: Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa, Uganda
