The Job of the General Chair

Qualifications

  • Understanding of stewardship
  • Excellent leadership, organization, planning and communication skills
  • Commitment to the goals, vision, mission and ministry of the APF Committee and our Association of Congregations
  • Trained, or willing to attend training as soon as possible after being selected, in anti-racism/anti-oppression/multi-culturalism work

Responsibilities

  • Chair APF Committee and Executive Committee meetings
  • Establish APF Committee objectives in support of Stewardship and Development Staff Group goals
  • Maintain liaison with APF Director
  • Assist in recruiting new members of the Committee
  • Communicate full Committee and Executive Committee decisions and concerns to the Finance Committee and Board of Trustees, as needed
  • Provide guidance and support to Committee members
