Popular Education and Action Centre (PEACE)

PEACE works towards strengthening social action at the grass roots level. Its objective is to encourage grass roots participation from marginalized people to advocate for their basic rights and to challenge existing power structures that affect their lives. PEACE works to build capacity of its audience through education on the issues and advocacy training.

PEACE currently works on:

  • Campaigns against the privatization of water, electricity and transportation.
  • Organizing groups affected by large-scale development projects that cause displacement of people.
  • Fighting eviction of tribals from their traditional habitats.
  • Coordinating efforts against the militarization of South Asia.
  • Educating field activists about implications of certain agricultural and trade laws.
