Congregations Come First Task Force
Congregations Come First (CCF) is an initiative of the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) Moderator."Congregations Come First" Initiative
The CCF Team Charge: The Congregations Come First Team is a partnership of our UUA Board, District Presidents Association, Annual Program Fund Committee and UUA district staff and includes a parish minister and UUA national staff. As a task force of the UUA Moderator, the CCF Team has been charged to recommend systemic changes and influence culture and practices that will ensure a more equitable and effective allocation of resources to support our congregations in their missions.
Process & Timing: The CCF Team has met six times since February 2006. The team has consulted with congregational, district, and national leaders, both lay and professional. The team will host workshops at the Large Congregations Conference in March 2008, and at the 2008 General Assembly and will meet periodically by phone between now and the beginning of a new administration in July of 2009.
Background & Latest Reports: At various times the District Presidents Association, the UUA Board of Trustees, district staff members, and others have explored inequities in the system that are believed to unnecessarily interfere with congregational health and vitality. Each time these efforts to correct have come to naught because the systemic issues could not be addressed. This team wishes to take a larger systems approach to address the inequities, inefficiencies, and bureaucracies that impede service and support of congregations.
Team Members: Elected and appointed lay leaders, religious professionals, UUA moderator, and UUA staff.

- Join the conversation at CCF workshops at the Large Congregation Conference and at General Assembly.
- Identify ways or methods by which we might live out our covenant more fully and with deeper meaning.
- Share your stories of how your congregation or district is addressing these values so that others might learn from your experiences.
