District Gatherings on Youth Ministry
District gatherings on youth ministry were an opportunity for a diverse group of youth and adults from throughout each district to build on the outcomes of the youth ministry survey and congregational conversations. Participants will also strategize about how to strengthen district-level programs and services in order to empower and support local youth ministries. Many districts chose to form a district task force to follow through on the ideas generated, and to take into consideration the recommendations of the Unitarian Universalist Association's Summit on Youth Ministry in July 2007.Objectives
Conversations focused on the future rather than the past. They provided space for participants to- discuss what the district is doing well and could share with the rest of the Association;
- explore additional opportunities for youth;
- envision a vibrant youth ministry in your district;
- identify resources needed to achieve this;
- commit to action and follow-through.
