Justice Waidner
Justice Waidner is a graduate of Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusettes. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in identity theory and literary journalism. During college she spent a semester studying "Sexuality & Gender Theory" in the Netherlands and a semester as an intern at the Carter Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Upon graduation and completing two years coordinating an HIV/AIDS focused AmeriCorps National Service program, she became the Deputy Director of a statewide HIV/AIDS care and prevention organization in Oklahoma. Following three years serving in that position, Justice was hired to be the Program Director for Tulsa Metropolitan Ministry, Tulsa’s oldest and largest interfaith social justice organization. Most recently, Justice served as the Executive Director of Oklahomans for Equality, a statewide lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning advocacy and support organization.
She will begin a Masters program in Management at the School for International Training in the fall of 2008. An active Unitarian Universalist (UU) since the age of twelve, Justice has served the movement as a lay leader in many different capacities during the past 15 years. Highlights include serving on Young Religious UUs (YRUU) Youth Council, Continental UU Young Adult Network (C*UUYAN) Steering Committee, UU Women's Federation Board of Directors and Grants Panel and as the Secretary of the Southwest UU Conference Board of Directors. Justice is an active layperson at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma where she has served on numerous committees, including the Youth/Adult Committee, Associational Affairs Committee and Internship Committee.
