The Reverend Cynthia Kane

The Rev. Cynthia L. G. Kane, LT, CHC, USN, is the sole Unitarian Universalist minister serving on active duty as a Navy Chaplain. A position which has led her to serve at Arlington National Cemetery, aboard the aircraft carrier the USS JOHN C STENNIS, and within the detention center of Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Currently she serves as the Deputy Director of the Spiritual Fitness Division for the Navy's southwest region, leading retreats and trainings for servicemembers and their families throughout Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, & Utah.

Cynthia received her B.A. in music and religious studies from Newcomb College of Tulane University and went on to receive an M.Div. from Harvard Divinity School. She is the recipient of the Harvard Divinity School Decade Award, a novice landscape designer, and aficionado of improv comedy.
