About UUA.org

The Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) website averages over four thousand visitors a day. Every week, about five thousand people perform a search for a congregation! UUA.org is one of our most important tools for introducing seekers to Unitarian Universalism.

Software Plugins

Often these common plugins are already installed on your computer, but downloading the latest versions may help you enjoy all that UUA.org has to offer.

• Our site performs best with Javascript enabled.
   
• Video: our streaming video requires Macromedia Flash and Javascript. When copyright allows, we also offer our video in downloadable, cross-platform MP4 format.
   
• Audio: we offer audio in MP3 format, which can be played on iTunes or almost any audio player.
   
• Documents: all Office documents (Word, Excel, etc.) are also available as PDF files, which can be viewed with the free Adobe Acrobat.

UUA.org works best on the following browsers (we've tested our site on the versions listed, but downloading the latest version of your preferred browser may be helpful):

Security settings in your browser may cause glitches in some of our features. To address these problems, add UUA.org (http://*.uua.org) and Google.com (http://*.google.com) to your list of trusted sites.

Analytics

We monitor the use of our site closely, so we can make informed decisions about improvements to our usability and design. We use Google Analytics, Crazy Egg, surveys, feedback forms, and other tools to help us understand how well our site works for you.

Snapshots

• Roughly 70% of the visitors to our home page are first-time visitors to UUA.org.
   
• Our most popular page (after our home page) is the Find a Congregation Search Results page, accounting for about 17% of our page views.
   
• The Visitors area of our site accounts for over 13% of our total traffic.
   
• The next most popular area is the Tapestry of Faith site, drawing over 12% of our page views.
   
• Web search engines account for over 52% of our traffic (only about 20% of our visitors come directly to our site).
   
• Search terms that lead people to us are primarily variations on Unitarian, Universalist, or UUA; the phrase "social justice issues" accounts for about one-half of 1% of the traffic that comes from web searches: about 4,000 visits/year.
   
• The most common searches performed on our site are for (variations on) General Assembly, WorshipWeb, Transitions, and Tapestry of Faith.
   
• Facebook accounts for about 10% of the links that send people to UUA.org.
   
• After English, the most common language setting of our visitors is Chinese, accounting for less than one-half of 1% of our traffic. French follows, at less than one-quarter of 1%.
