Unitarian Universalist Association's 50th Anniversary, 1961-2011
An Invitation to Remember, Reflect and Aspire
General Assembly (GA) 2011 in Charlotte, NC marked the 50th anniversary of the merger of the American Unitarian Association and the Universalist Church of America. You can learn more about our celebration from UU World.
You are invited to remember the persons and events that brought into being the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) in May 1961, to reflect on our denomination’s relevant achievements and struggles since then, and to chart new aspirations for the future we are determined to shape.
How You Can Still Be Involved
There are several ways to still get involved with our 50th Anniversary milestone celebration.
Share and Reflect with us about some of your memories, thoughts, and hopes regarding our Association and read others' Memories and Stories.
Participate in our Oral History Project by helping us to collect interviews with leaders from our past 50 years or by browsing the interviews already collected.
Visit Our Heritage and History pages or our Historical Documents for resources and documents about our heritage and the history of the consolidation and the creation of our Association.
